Bust of Alexander Pokryshkin

Alexander Pokryshkin was an outstanding Soviet ace pilot, thrice Hero of the Soviet Union. His talent as an unsurpassed master of air combat was most fully revealed during the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945.
He was born on March 6, 1913 in Novonikolaevsk (now Novosibirsk).
Decorated with six Orders of Lenin, October Revolution Order, four Orders of the Red Banner, two Orders of Suvorov, two Orders of the Patriotic War, two Orders of the Red Star, the Order "For Service to Motherland in the Armed Forces of the USSR", three classes, medals, as well as foreign orders and medals.
The famous Marshal died on November 13, 1985, he was buried with military honors at Novodevichy Cemetery.
